Brief Posting Description Tri-State is an electric utility. We have a Communications Summer Intern opportunity for 2019. Students who have successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor's degree in Communications from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply.This summer position offers students hands on opportunity to work in and learn various aspects of power utility Communications functions. Job Requirements Responsibilities: Under supervision, create content for Tri-State's social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. Content will include short videos, text and designed images. The Intern will also help with Power and virtual reality scheduling and event management/support. This summer position will provide needed bandwidth to help achieve goals to expand social media and provide event support to our member cooperatives.Projects may include the following:Generate Possibilities - Virtual Reality experience scheduling and event support. (Please note that some of the activities involving VR may require going outside of the normally scheduled work hours but no more than a total of 40 hours per week.) Work on Power Campaign - schedule Power's event appearances and coordinate with the actor and member system to ensure event success. Tri-State social media channels Marketing campaign work - if time allowsJob RequirementsComputer experience/knowledge with Microsoft Word, SmartSheet, Dropbox. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications preferred Social media experience and advanced knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram Event management with great attention to detail Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills - comfort interacting with public and cooperative membersDuration, Work Schedule and LocationThe duration of the summer internship will be from about the end of May until the end of August. The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., forty hours per week.
