The Department of History at the University of Kansas invites nominations and applications for the endowed position of Hall Distinguished Professor of British History. We seek a scholar of Britain and its Empire who, in research and teaching, positions Britain in global networks and contexts. Period and region of specialization is open. Candidates should have a distinguished international reputation for research and publication, offer evidence of significant professional activity beyond the university level, and demonstrate strong teaching and mentoring abilities. This position will be awarded with tenure, and is endowed with substantial research support and a reduced teaching load. Expectations are for substantial and continuing research productivity, a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching in a range of courses, and service to the department, college, and university commensurate with rank. The Department and College have a strong interest in candidates with demonstrated experience in constructing or contributing to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
